Linda Gartner would like to dedicate this year’s Sycamore Community Summer Singer’s tour to her mentor, Dr. Ivan Trusler.
Dr. Trusler was the Director of the Bowling Green State University Collegiate Chorale in 1979 when Mrs. Gartner first had the opportunity to experience first hand the excitement and thrill of traveling to Europe to perform in some of the finest venues the country had to offer. If it had not been for the outstanding leadership and inspiration of Dr. Trulser, SCSS would not exist today.
Dr. Trusler passed away in October of 2008. Mrs. Gartner was fortunate to have visited with him last summer and made it very clear that SCSS would not exist had it not been for him. Bless you, Dr. Trusler! I know you are making beautiful music!
