Day Two

It’s 11:00 at night trying to remember how the day started!!!!  WHAT A DAY!  BREAKFAST was incredible…..chocolate croissants, hard rolls, cheeses, meats, great European yogurt and of course coffee con leche!  On the bus at 10:00 …..well, almost ALL of us were on the bus at 10:00….can you say LG (not me!) and JD!!!!!  They will not be tardy again.   :) :) :)    We had a great bus tour with our guides Elena and Ricardo.  What a beautiful city!  Saw the Gaudi sites, beautiful view of the Mediterranean, saw the sites of the Olympics of 1992, some bought beautiful scarves, necklaces, bracelets at the Guell Park and then FREE TIME with chaperones!!!!   Took a sneak peek into the church where our performance was to be tonight.  OH, and the MARKET!!!  You must ask your kids what they saw and ate in that market…..can you say calimari?????  TWICE!!!!  DELICIOUS!  Had an early 5:00 dinner outside at the Jardin d’Angel.  WONDERFUL!!!  Many have had their first, second and third gelato!!  And they all know about MAGNUM BARS now!!!!!  We walked to the church, sent the parents out and about and had rehearsal.  INCREDIBLE!!!!!  The acoustics were phenomenal.  The church is under major renovation/refurbishing….dates back to 296 AD and finished in 1467….MAJOR OLD!!!  There was scaffolding all over the place and let me tell you, once the singers stood there in their dress attire and sang their first warm up chord it was absolutely heavenly!  Their eyes told all.  People from the street came in to listen and stayed through rehearsal until the END of the concert.  A lady from Madrid happened to be there and wanted to know where we were singing in Madrid….she’s bringing ALL of her family and friends to our Madrid performance!  We have a groupie!

I wish you could have heard these kids sing tonight!!!!!  You will not believe it!  They were incredible.  Have I used that word too much already???? :)

Tomorrow it is up the mountain to the Monestary!  The Montserrat Boy Choir was originally not scheduled to be in town but they will be there and perform for us at 1:00 and then we are going to sing four of our acappella pieces on the High Alter.  Should be very inspiring.  We’ll be in our blue and khaki after the performance.  Just think about us all walking around in blue and khaki with everyone wanting to know who we are!  Thanks, everyone for getting these shirts.

The parents are delightful.  I think they want to sing with us!

Again, thank you for allowing your children this opportunity.  We’ll never forget our visit to Spain.

More tomorrow night.
