Day 3

scss-montserrat

At Montserrat after performance

Hola to all from Day Three!!!!!

Once again, here it is, 11:00 p.m. and I’m trying to remember how the day started!  So much  in one day.  One of the parents asked me as we got on the bus tonight how could I possibly remember what we did all day long.  WHAT A MEMORABLE  DAY IT WAS!  !

Another great breakfast, all dressed in blue and khaki.  We looked GOOD!  On the bus by 9:00 a.m. and on our way to Montserrat.  WHAT GREAT SCENERY!  The mountains were beautiful.  You must google Montserrat!!!!  Took the funicular to the top of the mountain, St. Jeroni peak.  And I mean TOP!!!  Again, google this place!  Several of our group hiked to the top of the peaks.  GREAT breeze and views.  Back down again to the “square” where several of us had our second or third Magnum bars.  Changing into our black formal attire on the bus or in the WC….then into the courtyard to wait to perform in the Basilica.  MAGNIFICENT!  We lined up single file along one aisle and listened to the Montserrat Boy Choir.  AGAIN, MAGNIFICENT.  Then, it was our turn….  J  We were treated like ROCK STARS again!  Beautiful singing!  We were so well received.  Picture in the courtyard and an impromptu song!  Then many waited to see the sacred Black Virgin.  Lunch in the cafeteria…some of us had their third plate of calamari….and a magnum bar!

Back on the bus, back to Barcelona.  Quick change in 45 minutes.  You ought to see how beautiful all of our young ladies are!  (the boys are pretty cute, too!)  Off to the Spanish Village for shopping!  One of our parents made mention that all of our females are “walking stimulus packages”!!!!!  Spain’s economy is so happy!  Dinner at La Llavor de L’Isis….chicken or seafood noodles.  Happy Birthday to Linda Gaffney and then a crème brulee/flan dessert.  Always something for everyone!

AND THEN…..a downhill walk to the Font Magica. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!  Water, lights and incredible music!  I mean incredible water, lights and music!!!  Wait until you see the pictures!  At the end of the show, the light sabres came out to guide us to the buses.  You’ll see!!!!

I must say that this group has finally gotten it!  Tomorrow is a very early morning…6:30 a.m. wake up call!  Breakfast and then to the train station.  I’m so excited for our kids to have this experience.  I know that so many of them will study abroad when in college and will have this memory of train travel.

I was walking with one of the moms and  chatting about how we can possibly explain all of this to you back home.  Just wait until you see the pictures!

Now it’s 11:20 p.m….time to return to my room, pack and sleep for maybe 6 hours!  We can do it!  Too much to see and do…sleep when we get home.

THANKS for reading….Thio will be posting a picture for you tonight.

Buenas noches!    Gartner
